Subjects: marks used on goods or for services


Registrability:

1) any visually perceptible signs including words, figures, letters of an alphabet, numerals;

2) three-dimensional signs, combination of colours as well as the combination of such signs to be distinguishable.


Language: Chinese


Documents for filing a trademark:

Picture of LOGO;

Power of attorney (duly executed by applicant);

Original version and Chinese translation of business certificate (duly executed by applicant);

Goods or services items.


Procedure:

Forwarding an application of trademark to CNIPA;

Formality and substantive examination (6~8 months from filing);

Publication period: 3 months after examination;

Registration: issue a trademark certificate.


Trademark right duration: 10 years after registration, renewable 12 months before the expiration.
